events at the local, state and national levels. Kie was only nine when she was injured in a car accident while returning home from a state track meet. She was immediately rushed to the Children’s Hospital at Egleston before being transferred again to the Children’s Hospital at Scottish Rite where she underwent surgery. After surgery, the doctors informed Kie and her family that she had less then a 5% chance of ever walking again.

With the wonderful support of her community and her family, Kie finally returned home to a very busy life of academics and rehabilitation. Kie took the determination and drive she used in running and applied it towards regaining her physical strength and being the very best student she can be.  Her parents are dedicated to researching every possibility to help Kie reach her goals and regain as much as possible. In doing this research, they found Project Walk®.

Kie and her family came to visit Project Walk® for the first time in the summer of 2005. While with us for only a month, Kie experienced improvements throughout her entire body that she was not aware she had.  She left with a home program and has made continued progress in her overall strength. She has even regained her ability to type again!  All of which has become very exciting and helpful to Kie and her continued school work. Kie is an extremely hard worker, with an unbelievable attitude toward improving. With her great motivation and heart, Kie will continue to strive to improve and attain her goals.
