Lori Hammond’s Graduation Day!

We first met Lori at Project Walk on September 26, 2008. She suffered an Arteriovenous Malformation that affected her spine at T6-7. Lori was given mixed signals of hope for improvement or recovery as each doctor told her something different. Lori listened to the most optimistic view which coincided with her own goals. She wanted to walk again but she also wanted to keep moving forward with life and go back to UC Davis for the fall semester, 2009.

With her goals set, we got to work. Lori was one of my personal clients so I can attest to the tremendous work ethic, drive and determination she put into her recovery. When asked if she needed a break, the answer was always “No, let’s keep working” and she never missed a training session.

Lori’s Specialists, Roya and Jillian were equally as driven and determined as Lori. Their focus was unmatched. I am proud of Roya and Jillian and thank them for their commitment to Lori and her success.

On August 27, 2009, Lori achieved her goals. She lifted her wheelchair over her head and walked out the door. She’s headed to UC Davis to continue her degree in Animal Science. We all miss her and wish her well as she continues with her recovery and pursuing her degree.

I would also like to thank Lori’s family, especially her dad and brother who never missed a day of her training. Their amazing support is to be commended.

Way to go Hammond Family!
